A living sand dollar is a fuzzy, flat sea urchin
Sand dollars are relatives of round sea urchins, but their bodies are flattened for life under the sand. Living ones are covered with very short moving spines that can look like soft fuzz.
A sea urchin found the sand and chose the pancake shape.
