Cloisonné enamel keeps its colors inside tiny metal cells
For cloisonné, thin metal wires are fixed to an object to form small cells. The cells are filled with colored glass paste, then the piece is fired and polished until the surface shines.
It is coloring inside the lines, except the lines are metal and the colors go into a kiln.
