The sky is blue because air scatters blue light
Sunlight contains many colors. When it enters Earth's atmosphere, gas molecules scatter the shorter blue wavelengths in many directions more strongly than most of the other colors.
Sunlight arrives with every color; the air keeps tossing the blue around.
