A blue Morpho butterfly makes blue with structure, not blue pigment
A Morpho's wings are covered with overlapping microscopic scales. Tiny ridges in those scales reflect light in a way that sends intense blue back to the viewer.
The wing does not store blue paint. It arranges light until blue is what comes back.
