A banana is botanically a berry
Botanists classify bananas as berries because each fleshy fruit develops from a single flower with one ovary. Cultivated Cavendish bananas can form without pollination and have only traces of undeveloped seeds.
Botany looked at a banana and said: yes, definitely a berry.
