Green, black and white peppercorns can come from one vine
All three can be made from fruits of the black pepper vine. Green peppercorns are picked young, black pepper is made from nearly mature green fruits, and white pepper comes from riper fruits with the fleshy outer layer removed.
The pepper mill's color choices are mostly one vine at different moments.
