Cats do not have a working receptor for sweetness
The usual mammal sweet receptor needs two working parts. In domestic cats and other members of the cat family, the gene for one of those parts does not work, so the complete receptor cannot form.
The strawberry can be as sweet as it likes. The cat remains completely unimpressed.
