A Baltimore Oriole weaves a hanging pouch
The female loops long fibers over a fork of thin branches, then pokes and pulls them with her bill until tangles hold. Springy fibers form the bowl, and soft feathers line the inside.
No knitting needles—just one pointed bill and about a week of careful weaving.
