Burrowing Owls often move into tunnels dug by prairie dogs
The owls enlarge and maintain burrows first made by prairie dogs, ground squirrels or other digging animals. A nest tunnel can twist for several yards underground.
The prairie dog digs the hallway; the owl brings the bright yellow eyes.
