A mason bee builds a row of rooms behind mud walls
The female uses an existing tunnel, adds food and one egg, then closes the cell with a mud partition. She repeats the pattern until the tunnel is nearly full and seals the entrance with a thicker wall.
One reed, several little rooms, and a very tidy clay front door.
