Liverwort keeps tiny new plants in rain-catching cups
Some liverworts grow small cup-shaped structures filled with flat disks called gemmae. When raindrops strike the cups, the disks splash out and can grow into new liverwort plants.
Each green cup is waiting for the gentlest possible launch.
